Kremlin Announces Clear Responses to Western Sanctions
The responses to Western sanctions, including the confiscation of property from Russian businesses, will be clarified, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, to reporters.
“The main idea of the president was that we will do what meets our interests, and our interests will correspond to, of course, counter-propagandas, but not always to the steps that are mirror in nature. Of course, let’s say, the illegal, criminal, raider-like attitude towards our business will have some response measures, but again, all of this will be sensible, all of this will be thoroughly checked by us,” Peskov said in response to a question about how Russia intends to react to visa and other restrictions.
He emphasized that Russia is interested in those who invest in the country, just like any normal country. “We talked about how we are interested in tourists coming to us from those countries that we consider unfriendly, why not, after all, people must see our country, understand that what they view and see about our country in their own is false, but you can only explain this to them by inviting them here. That’s what the president meant. That’s how the line will be drawn,” Peskov stated.
