Georgia and Armenia to Provide Electricity to Each Other in Emergencies

The operators of the energy markets of Armenia and Georgia have signed an agreement to supply electricity during emergencies. This was reported by the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

A meeting of the joint working group on the energy sector of the two countries took place in Tbilisi, led by Deputy Minister of Energy of Armenia Hakob Vardanyan and Deputy Minister of Economy of Georgia Romeo Mikautadze.

According to the Georgian side, the discussion also included the Black Sea cable project, which will connect Georgia's energy system with Romania, creating new opportunities for increasing electricity exports from Georgia and other countries in the region to the EU.
