Why Onik Gasparyan is Not Included: 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' newspaper writes: 'The prosecution against senior military officials has been stalled. Recall that on August 31, Mikayel Arzumanyan, the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and chief advisor to the Artsakh president, was arrested. He has been charged with several incidents, one being negligence during the organization of the defense of Shushi city and surrounding areas, otherwise known as having surrendered Shushi himself. On September 2, charges were also brought against Jalal Harutyunyan, who served as the commander of the Artsakh Defense Army at the beginning of the war until he was severely injured. It turns out he too conducted his duties poorly, particularly failing the well-known operation at Lele Tepe. Subsequently, it was rumored that the next in line was Onik Gasparyan, the former head of the Ministry of Defense General Staff and the actual commander of the war, under whose leadership the aforementioned individuals operated. However, we learned from Gasparyan's circle that he is under the protection of Russian circles. This is the reason why Pashinyan is not continuing the show and Onik Gasparyan is not being included. Of course, for the sake of his rating, he could have bypassed the Russians' prohibition, but he is no longer the daring leader of 2018 who initiated a case against the Secretary General of the CSTO; over the past four years, he probably has understood the risks of going against the Russians.'
