Georgia Begins Mass Denial of Entry for Russians

Meduza reports that Georgia has started to deny entry to Russians on a large scale. The director of the Free Russia Foundation stated to the agency "Agentstvo" that several weeks ago Georgia tightened border control against Russians, and now dozens of people are being denied entry.

"It doesn’t matter what the profession is, whether they have residency in Georgia, or whether they have a lease agreement. If there is no residency permit document, then no other document is considered a guarantee for Russian citizens to enter Georgia," said the director of the organization.

The Russian consulate in Trabzon also reported that entry permits to Georgian territory have been denied from Turkish territory almost daily.
