‘Armenian Car Markets Will Soon Resemble Georgian Car Markets’ – Sanosyan
During a government session, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, presented a draft decision on setting requirements for car markets, stating that the development process of the draft took into account the experiences of various countries, adopting elements similar to those of Georgia. Soon, Armenian car markets will resemble those of Georgia.
“We are trying to describe what the car market should look like, where the buying and selling of vehicles should take place,” the minister said.
According to the newly established criteria, the area of the car market must be 5 hectares, and various services, including financial, police, and customs, must operate on-site.
“The market should not only provide the opportunity to buy a car but also to clear the vehicle from customs. It should be possible to register the vehicle on-site after purchase and obtain a state registration plate,” Sanosyan stated.
The decision also defines the standards for food points operating in the market and parking facilities for visiting citizens.
