Zaporizhzhia Authorities Do Not Rule Out Complete Shutdown of Nuclear Power Plant
The complete shutdown of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant cannot be ruled out due to the constant shelling by Ukrainian military, stated the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional administration, Yevgen Balitsky, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“Because today, most likely, we will have to close the nuclear power plant, as its operation will become impossible under such conditions. Most likely, we will switch to operating from diesel generators, because the operation of the nuclear plant in this mode will be impossible. We have not fully resolved this issue, but, most likely, we will have to make such a decision,” Balitsky said during a broadcast on Solovyov Live.
Additionally, he noted that under the constant shelling of Energodar, the flow of people leaving the city continues, where the families of the nuclear power plant’s personnel live.
