This was stated by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanian during a conversation with journalists, referring to the publication of the model of Jesus Christ's statue by the Gagik Tsarukyan Charity Foundation, noting that there is still no permission from the ministry regarding this issue.

“We see no public issue; we have said that whatever is done must be done within the framework of the law. People have made and published some videos on the internet; discussing this issue is a waste of time. At the moment, there is no approved project for the statue. What happens in the online space interests me little,” said Dumanian.

Journalists also asked the minister why it was decided to make Ashtarak an academic town, to which Dumanian replied, “It was deemed appropriate this way; there are a thousand and one questions, and certain existing infrastructures there have been taken into account, there is a research center; Ashtarak is not an area that should raise questions for you. If it were somewhere else, I might consider the question relevant,” Dumanian said.
