Enerhodar Under Fire: Ukrainians Begin Massive Shelling
Ukrainian forces have commenced a massive shelling of Enerhodar, resulting in the temporary evacuation of the city, reported Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye regional administration, on his Telegram channel.
“Enerhodar is under fire; Ukrainian militants have launched a massive shelling, causing the city to be temporarily evacuated,” he wrote, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to Rogov, the capacity of the sixth power unit of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant has been reduced to 135-140 MW. Information regarding casualties is being clarified.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Ukrainian armed forces had fired in the direction of Enerhodar three times throughout the day, launching 16 shells. Following a strike on the transformer substation, it was revealed that the city had been left without electricity, and Russian artillery has responded by suppressing the enemy's firepower.
