Larry the Cat, who resides at the Downing Street residence, has confirmed that Boris Johnson has left. “Yes, I stepped out to check that he is gone. He has left,” reads the cat's Twitter post.

Hours after the post, the internet actively discussed and turned the photo featuring Larry into a meme.

It is noteworthy that just hours earlier, outgoing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, accompanied by his wife, Carrie Johnson, had departed from the Prime Minister's residence at Downing Street. Prior to this, he delivered his final speech in office, announcing his support for Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, who is set to replace him as Prime Minister.

Johnson urged Conservatives to put aside all differences and unite.
