Cavusoglu Discusses Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey Processes

On September 5, a meeting took place in Ankara between the foreign ministers of Turkey and France. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Catherine Colonna held a joint press conference where Çavuşoğlu touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan and Armenia-Turkey processes, reports ermenihaber.

The Turkish foreign minister stated that he intends to inform his French counterpart about the ongoing dialogue between Armenia and Turkey during a working dinner. He emphasized that after the recent war over Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan's victory, a significant opportunity for lasting peace and stability has emerged in the Caucasus region, which requires everyone’s support.

“There is dialogue between both Turkey and Armenia, as well as Azerbaijan and Armenia, and work is ongoing. Specifically, negotiations for a comprehensive peace agreement are underway. It is essential that we support all of this,” stated Çavuşoğlu.

The French foreign minister also responded positively to the Turkish minister's remarks, saying, “A very good, positive environment is being formed in the region. Dialogue between Turkey and Armenia is increasing. And that is very positive.”
