Aliyev on Azerbaijan's Proposed 5 Principles and Armenia's Response
The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia will base their practical negotiations on the "peace agreement" around the five principles proposed by Baku and accepted by Yerevan. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a conversation with reporters in Italy, according to Interfax.az.
"These five principles include the recognition of the territorial integrity of both countries, mutual renunciation of territorial claims, refraining from the use of force or threats of force, demarcation of borders, and the opening of communications," Aliyev said.
According to him, these principles have been proposed to Armenia by Azerbaijan.
"The Prime Minister of Armenia has accepted them. This was also reaffirmed during our meeting in Brussels two days ago," he added.
