Universities to Relocate to Ashtarak: Nikol Pashinyan
“Our universities, both in terms of physical infrastructure and educational standards, often do not meet international criteria. They either lack standards or they are not enforced. Many individuals with higher education diplomas are often not competitive in the job market,” stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting today, adding, “The government intends to proceed with the consolidation of universities, aiming to have only eight state consolidated universities through the merger with certain research institutes, which will be aligned with international standards.”
Continuing his speech, Pashinyan said, “The government has decided that the academic city will be constructed in the Aragatson region, in Ashtarak, and the modernized universities will be relocated there. If such decisions are not made, the state will face disaster.”
