My Phone is Being Tapped: Jalavyan on Kyokh and Michael Arzumanyan

According to an official statement, former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and advisor to the President of Artsakh, Michael Arzumanyan, has been charged with giving a 'retreat' order to the personnel who liberated the 'Arega' heights and combat positions.

Today, the press reported that Michael Arzumanyan has been charged based on the testimony of the well-known commander Karen Jalavyan, also known as Kyokh. MediaHub spoke with Jalavyan on this topic.

- Mr. Jalavyan, are the reports true that you have been questioned regarding Michael Arzumanyan’s case?

- No.

- Have you not even been notified?

- No.

- The media writes that the basis for the new charges against Arzumanyan is your testimony.

- Whoever wrote that is lying.

- Do you have any connection to this?

- No, no.

- How would you assess all this, was Michael Arzumanyan someone who gave a 'retreat' order?

- What retreat are we talking about?

- We are talking about the statement from the Investigative Committee, according to which Arzumanyan gave a 'retreat' order to the personnel who liberated the 'Arega' heights and combat positions.

- There is no mention of 'Arega' in his indictment. I don’t know, I am not familiar with the Investigative Committee's statement.

- But could he have given a 'retreat' order?

- No, he is not someone who gives retreat orders.

- Do you believe this has any political subtext?

- My phone is being tapped.
