Accusations Particularly Regarding the Surrender of Shushi: New Details

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that yesterday afternoon, on the way from Artsakh to Yerevan, the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army and chief advisor to the president, Mikhael Arzumanyan, was detained and arrested. He was interrogated concerning a criminal case opened in connection with the war. The reason behind this two years after the war is that in Artsakh, people believe he is yet another victim of Nikol Pashinyan's show.

The fact is, in recent days, parents of soldiers who were killed or went missing during the war have been staging protests demanding Pashinyan’s arrest. Pashinyan wants to demonstrate that he is not the main culprit; rather, it is others, including Misha. Otherwise, Arzumanyan would have been notified and summoned for questioning instead of being ambushed and arrested on the way to Yerevan.

Later, Araik Harutyunyan's spokesperson stated, "President considers General Arzumanyan one of our best military commanders, who has an impressive record. His efforts during the 2020 war are undeniable as well... The developments concerning the arrest are under the president’s attention." We have learned that charges have been brought against Misha Arzumanyan concerning several incidents, particularly regarding the surrender of Shushi, even though he assumed command of the Defense Army on October 26, 2020, after Jalal Harutyunyan was injured, when it was no longer possible to change the course of events, as the Armenian army had already retreated more than 100 kilometers."

More details in today’s issue of the newspaper.
