VIDEO: 'We are giving Davtyan his last chance.' What the parents of fallen soldiers are demanding
The parents of soldiers who perished in the 44-day war are gathered near the Prosecutor General's Office, demanding the arrest of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The parents have blocked Vazgen Sargsyan street in Yerevan.
In an interview with journalists, the mother of fallen soldier Hayk Melikyan stated that they continue to demand the arrest of Arthur Davtyan, the Prosecutor General, just as they have since April. “If the Prosecutor General had acted back then, our country would not be facing new calamities,” she stressed.
“We all know that Arthur Davtyan's term is set to expire soon, and we want to give him just one last chance to save his honor and that of his family, so the stigma of treason is not permanently placed on his and his descendants' foreheads. We hope he will finally make that important decision that can also halt the continuous dismantling of our state,” said the mother of the fallen soldier.
“We learned that Pashinyan is going to Brussels tomorrow for a meeting. But he should not represent the Armenian people; he does not have that right. We demand that the Prosecutor General prevents his actions as soon as possible,” said Garik Galayan, the father of fallen soldier Mikitar Galayan. According to him, Pashinyan will sign yet another document tomorrow, and we will start giving away territories from Armenia.
