Luxurious Mansions, Businesses: A New Show on the Property of Hovik Abrahamyan is Anticipated

The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia is preparing to initiate the asset confiscation process concerning former Prime Minister and former National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan. This information has been shared with "Hraparak" by unofficial sources. The Prosecutor's Office has declined to comment on the information, stating that they do not disclose data regarding illegal assets. Despite this, numerous cases have been made public during this time, even for those matters where the process has not yet advanced—only just begun.

Luxurious mansions, businesses, and even vehicles have not been declared by Hovik Abrahamyan, although legends regarding his properties, lands, and palaces have been circulating. Immediately after the revolution, Hovik Abrahamyan was charged with exceeding official powers (Article 309, part one of the Criminal Code) and illegally participating in entrepreneurial activities (Article 310 of the Criminal Code). This pertains to the well-known "Avazahatik" company case, where, according to the Prosecutor's Office, senior officials had artificially created obstacles back in 2008, demanding shares. This was the start of a show aimed at holding thieves accountable. The investigation of this case is still ongoing. Hovik Abrahamyan has deemed these charges obviously false and linked them to the criticism he expressed in the media.
