Iran Begins to Refer to Azerbaijan as Its 'Northern Azerbaijan' Province

A Persian-language Telegram channel affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which has approximately 400,000 subscribers, has headlined news about the barbaric Bashibuzuks of Baku at the entrance to the Armenian Berdzor as follows: 'Ilham Aliyev, the self-proclaimed governor of Northern Azerbaijan Province, announced that Baku's forces have been deployed in Berdzor.'

Vardan Voskanyan, an expert on Iran, reported this information, stating, 'Recently, at an unofficial level, Azerbaijan, which is considered an artificial entity, is often referred to as the Northern Azerbaijan province of Iran. Furthermore, just recently, Iranian diplomat Abolfazl Zohrevand spoke about how Armenia and Armenians are allies of Iran, while Azerbaijan represents a cancerous formation and a threat to the civilizational territory of Iran. This has led to serious concerns for the authoritarian leader of Baku and the Erdoğan-led administration, resulting in hysterical anti-Iranian reactions in the media.'
