Secret Documents Found at Trump's Residence
The FBI has informed a judge that it expects to find evidence of obstruction of justice during a search of former President Donald Trump's home in Florida, according to recently released court documents, BBC reports.
Investigators revealed that Mar-a-Lago was holding "highly classified files as well as various newspapers and magazines." The Justice Department stated that it had redacted the testimony to protect a significant number of civilian witnesses.
Trump has claimed that the investigation is being led by "political hackers and thieves." On Friday, the U.S. Department of Justice released a version of the written testimony used to justify the FBI's raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate on August 8, but it was heavily redacted.
Considering that the court documents were submitted prior to the search of the Palm Beach estate, they do not provide new details regarding the 11 classified documents that, according to the Justice Department's claims, were found at the exclusive golf club.
