Senor Hasratyan on Exemption from Military Service for Money
"They do not not know what the outcome of all this will be, but rather, being well-informed, they are dismantling and destroying everything related to the country's defense." This was stated by former spokesperson of the Artsakh Defense Army, Senor Hasratyan, on his Facebook page, addressing the government’s proposed draft law on exemption from mandatory military service for a fee.
"Since ancient times, military service has always been a matter of honor. Moreover, in some countries, it has been considered a sub-class obligation, and in others, an exclusive privilege of the nobility... Even today, there are still quite a few countries where citizens who have not served in the military are legally barred from holding high state positions... It is those peoples who have lived and continue to live by this tradition that primarily created and strengthened their countries, while those who have chosen to turn the defense of the Homeland into a paid service for the socially disadvantaged have long departed from the stage of history..."
