Court Hearing in the Case of Sargsyan and Others Postponed
The court hearing in the case of Armenia's third President Serzh Sargsyan and others has been postponed at the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court.
Serzh Sargsyan was present at the hearing; however, the witness in the case, Sevan Kocharyan, was not present. It should be noted that he was the director of the fuel importing company "Sobraniye."
Judge Vahe Misakyan mentioned that the next court hearing will take place on September 8 at 14:30.
Sargsyan's lawyer Amram Makinyan told reporters that he sees a deliberate intention behind the witness's absence from the court hearings, as this is the third consecutive hearing in which Sevan Kocharyan has not appeared, delaying the progress of the hearings. "The witness, whose testimony served as the basis for initiating the criminal case, does not appear in court. This is a direct indication that the criminal case is fabricated and artificial. Moreover, this witness has been interrogated by the investigator, thus I see intent behind their absence from the court," said the lawyer.
