Teen Who Criticized Chechen President Reportedly Dead, Media Claims

One of the moderators of the ADAT Telegram channel, Salman Tepsurkeyev, has died. This was confirmed by Olga Sadovskaya, a lawyer with the 'Against Torture' team, in an interview with Katerina Gordeeva. 'We know for sure that he has died. We could not save this person,' said Sadovskaya. The Insider reports.

Tepsurkeyev was reportedly abducted in September 2020 in Gelendzhik. One of the abductors showed an ID badge of a Ministry of Internal Affairs employee of the Chechen Republic. Tepsurkeyev was taken to Chechnya, where he was tortured in front of a camera, with footage published online. The young man was accused of criticizing the Chechen president on his Telegram channel.
