New Neighborhood Being Built in Shurnukh: Details
Armen Ghulyan, the chairman of the Urban Development Committee, and Arsen Mirzoyan, head of the Urban Development Programs Implementation Department, recently visited the Syunik region to oversee the construction of a new neighborhood in the settlement of Shurnukh.
According to the Urban Development Committee of Armenia, during the visit, the completed construction works were reviewed. It has been noted that the construction of 9 out of 13 residential houses in the neighborhood is nearing completion, while works on the remaining 4 homes are ongoing. Internal finishing works for the houses have also begun.
Furthermore, the pavement of the neighborhood's new road has been constructed, and work has commenced on engineering infrastructures and retaining walls.
The new neighborhood is expected to feature a sewage system with a treatment plant, external electricity supply lines, and an external lighting system. Additionally, a barn is to be constructed for each homeowner, along with fencing and enclosing the land.
During the site visit, committee officials discussed project solutions with representatives of the contracting and technical supervision companies and provided instructions to address certain identified deficiencies and to enlist additional workforce.
They have been tasked with undertaking all necessary measures to ensure that the entire construction volume is completed within the stipulated timeframe and with quality.
It is worth noting that the construction of the new neighborhood in the community of Shurnukh, part of the larger Goris municipality, began on April 26, 2021. The project's value is approximately 1.2 billion Armenian drams. The works are being carried out in accordance with the contracting agreements and budget allocations. The neighborhood is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2022.
