Installation of Checkpoints is Based on Corridor Logic: Ohanyan
The installation of three new checkpoints on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is being carried out according to the corridor logic of the Azerbaijani side. This opinion was expressed by Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the 'Armenia' faction in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, during a conversation with journalists.
Ohanyan stated, "It is unacceptable to do all this while bypassing all procedures and without coordinating with the legislature." Regarding the handover of Berdzor, he noted that the document dated November 9 specifies that a project for the newly constructed road should be worked on during the relevant period; however, Azerbaijanis have done this prematurely. Additionally, according to him, the document confirms that there should be a corridor between Artsakh and Armenia. Therefore, the current government of Armenia should be asked why they are prematurely handing over what was agreed and why they are violating the provisions of the contract and reaching verbal agreements.
Ohanyan believes that there are serious shortcomings in the relations between Armenia and Russia, as well as between Artsakh and Russian peacekeepers, and between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
It is noteworthy that on August 5, it became known that the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Artsakh, Hayk Khanumyan, discussed the evacuation of the residents of Agavno, Nerk'in Sus, and Berdzor until August 25 of this year with representatives of the local population, community, and regional authorities.
