Çavuşoğlu on Relations with Armenia and the Zangezur Corridor
The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in an interview with Haber Global, stated that representatives from Turkey and Armenia have already held four meetings. He emphasized that the main goal is to build relationships.
“After Azerbaijan's victory, we support efforts to establish peace in the South Caucasus. Meetings are taking place, and steps are being taken regarding direct flights and the opening of airspace,” he noted.
According to the Turkish minister, peace in the South Caucasus can be achieved by signing a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. “Azerbaijan made a number of proposals, while Armenia didn't respond to those proposals for a long time. Several meetings have taken place, and a border commission has been established. There is also the Zangezur Corridor, whose mention irritates Armenia. But this is included in the trilateral agreements signed by Armenia,” he stated.
