High Fire Hazard Situation Expected

The Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center reports that due to high temperature backgrounds and a lack of precipitation, a high fire hazard situation is expected in the foothill and valley areas of the republic.

Throughout the republic, dry weather is anticipated during the daytime of August 21 and from the 23rd to the 26th. On August 22, after noon, brief thunderstorm-like rain is possible in certain mountainous regions. Winds will be from the southeast at 2-5 m/s. In the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, as well as in Armavir, stronger winds of 14-17 m/s are expected in the evening hours.

The air temperature on August 21 during the day will decrease by 2-3 degrees but will not change significantly thereafter. In Yerevan, dry weather is anticipated from August 21 during the day and from the 22nd to the 26th. Stronger winds of 13-15 m/s are expected in the evening hours.
