The List of Declarants Will Expand: 'Zhoghovurd'
Heads of state and municipal non-profit organizations, as well as directors of foundations established by the state, will henceforth be required to submit declarations regarding their property and assets.
'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports that the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia has proposed such amendments, and the draft was accepted at yesterday's government meeting among undiscussed projects. Family members of these officials will also need to submit declarations of assets and interests.
The rationale states that these individuals often participate in various competitions, potentially resulting in conflicts of interest. The package of proposed projects also suggests expanding the range of related individuals.
In the context of the proposed regulation, it includes not only those connected by kinship but also individuals in close personal relationships that are not familial, as well as commercial legal entities, etc. It is noted that the projects have been aligned with international regulations.
This draft still needs to be discussed in the new session of the National Assembly.
