Temperatures Gradually Decrease
The territory of the Republic continues to be under the influence of tropical warm air flows from the regions of Iraq, which will result in daytime temperatures reaching +38…+40 degrees Celsius in the Ararat Valley, the foothill areas of Aragatsotn, Vayots Dzor, the valleys of Syunik, and in Yerevan on August 18-19.
Due to the high thermal background and absence of precipitation, high fire hazard situations are expected in the foothill and valley areas of the republic during these days. The intensity of ultraviolet radiation in the Ararat Valley and Yerevan is expected to be above normal on August 18-19. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In the territory of the Republic, dry weather is expected on the afternoon of August 18 and from the 19th to the 23rd. Winds will be from the southwest at 2-5 m/s. In the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, and in Armavir, wind intensification of 14-17 m/s is expected in the evening hours.
The air temperature will gradually decrease by 2-3 degrees from August 20 to 22.
In Yerevan, dry weather is expected on the afternoon of August 18 and from the 19th to the 23rd. Wind intensification is anticipated in the evening hours at 13-15 m/s.
