Some Residents of Aghavno Don't Know Where to Relocate
The Aghavno community in the Kashatagh region of Artsakh has been without electricity since yesterday, and means of communication are virtually non-existent. It was not possible to speak with the community leader, Andranik Chavushyan, to understand the current situation in Aghavno.
In a conversation with Aravot.am, Mher Mazmanyan, a resident of Berdzor and a freedom fighter, stated that he is currently occupied with the relocation of his friends' families. "We also have no connection with Aghavno. One family, whose son was killed in the war, is relocating to Ejmiatsin, and we are dealing with the accommodation arrangements. Since this morning, we have also been unable to contact the village. One resident mentioned that getting in touch has become an issue; now, you have to take a longer route to be reachable," Mazmanyan informed the media.
Regarding the latest information about Aghavno's residents, the media interlocutor noted that there is a certain level of anxiety among everyone, especially those currently in the village. “One family has an urgent issue with renting accommodation. They are a single mother with two underage children. A vehicle is supposed to arrive soon to pick them up, but she doesn't know where to go. The rental issue is being resolved with the help of friends, but now we are trying to find suitable housing in Ejmiatsin. There are several families with similar issues. There is no clarity. Initially, there should have been clarity regarding the deadlines from the state bodies. People are in constant uncertainty — is the deadline August 20 or 25? We don’t know," he added.
Mher Mazmanyan emphasized that there is no official document indicating whether the Kashatagh region must be evacuated by August 25 or 20. “Is there a written evacuation plan or not? The 25th has only been mentioned verbally. Hayk Khanzadyan and Mr. Beglaryan have come and said that. Now we don’t know if it’s the 20th or the 25th,” he stressed.
