Moscow Awaits Armenia's Foreign Ministry Response: Ivan Nechayev
Moscow is awaiting a response from Armenia's Foreign Ministry regarding a protest note that was sent. This was stated today during a press briefing by Ivan Nechayev, the Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The Russian Embassy in Yerevan has made a relevant statement, and today the acting head of the Russian mission had a constructive conversation with the leadership of Armenia's Foreign Ministry. We are waiting for a response,” said Nechayev.
It is worth recalling that yesterday the Russian Embassy issued a statement expressing outrage over attempts to link the explosion at the 'Surmalu' site to Russian entities.
“We are outraged by the cynical materials circulating in the local information space, which contain sacrilegious and false accusations against Russian entities regarding their involvement in the incident that took place on August 14 at the 'Surmalu' shopping center. We view this as a provocation by the political forces behind such insinuations. The aim of all this is to disrupt Russian-Armenian allied relations. We expect the Armenian authorities to take steps aimed at suppressing such unfriendly manifestations, including necessary public comments,” the statement said, noting that the relevant note has been sent to the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
