The Bomb Threat at Gyumri Railway Station Was a Hoax
Gyumri railway station has resumed normal operations. The report of an explosive device being present in the area was false.
According to Armenpress, on August 17, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia received an email regarding the presence of an explosive device at Gyumri station. At approximately 10:40 AM, emergency and police forces conducted operations on-site, evacuating all individuals from the administrative building of the station. After the bomb squad's inspection, the station returned to normal operations.
“The area was cordoned off, an evacuation was carried out, and we organized train boarding and alighting away from the building. The building was thoroughly checked, and after confirming that everything was normal, we resumed our usual operations,” said Sergey Aleksanyan, the head of the Gyumri Railway Station, noting that trains are currently running on schedule without any delays.
