Russian Embassy's Response to Allegations Against Russian Entities in Context of 'Surmalu' Explosion

The Russian Embassy in Armenia has sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia regarding the allegations directed at Russian entities in the context of the tragic explosion that occurred on August 14 at the 'Surmalu' shopping center.

“We are outraged by the cynical materials circulating in the local information space, which contain abusive and false accusations against Russian entities regarding their involvement in the tragedy that took place on August 14 at the 'Surmalu' shopping center. We consider this a direct provocation by the political forces behind such insinuations, aimed at undermining Russian-Armenian allied relations. We expect measures from the Armenian authorities to suppress such unfriendly manifestations, including necessary public commentary,” the Russian Embassy stated in a Facebook announcement.

It should be noted that the Russian side, represented by the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center, has been involved in the efforts to eliminate the consequences of the tragedy from the very first moments.
