Funeral Service for Deceased Pregnant Woman, Her 4-Year-Old Son, and Sister to Be Held Today in Yeghvard
The funeral service for the pregnant Sirarpi Khachatryan, her 4-year-old son, and her sister, who died in the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center, will take place today in the mourning hall of Yeghvard.
The burials of the sisters and the 4-year-old boy will occur tomorrow. Previously, it was reported that Sirarpi Khachatryan had gone to the shopping center with her sister and her son to buy items for her unborn baby.
28-year-old Sirarpi was from Yeghvard, had married in Yeghegnadzor, and worked in the service sector. Her sister, Mariam, was 30 years old, lived with their parents in Yeghvard, and was unmarried. Their brother was drafted into the army this summer.
It is recalled that the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center occurred on August 14, resulting in 16 deaths as of August 17 at 10:00 AM. The identities of 15 of the deceased have been established. Two individuals are still being searched for. A total of 61 citizens were injured in the blast, with 7 remaining hospitalized. Their health condition is reported as satisfactory.
