As of Today, We Still Have 2 Missing Persons

As of August 17 at 00:50, search and rescue operations continue. The fire was contained on August 16 at 14:38 and extinguished at 17:49. Preliminary estimates indicate that the area affected by firefighting and rescue operations is about 1 hectare. A three-story building (approximately 2889 square meters) has collapsed.

As a result of the search and rescue work, the bodies of 16 citizens have been found, including:

6. Gayane Artavazd's Avetisyan, born in 1965
7. Aram Komisari's Hayrapetian, born in 1980
8. Vachagan Vahagni's Yeghoyan, born in 2000
9. Erna Manveli's Grigoryan, born in 1980
10. Harutyun Samveli's Garakyan, born in 1987
11. Mariam Armen's Khachatryan, born in 1992
12. Sirarpi Armen's Khachatryan, born in 1994
13. Marat Karen's Shahbazyan, born in 2018
14. Hrachya Fanberg's Sargsyan, born in 1976
15. Artavazd Hayrapetyan, born in 1951
16. One unidentified citizen.

62 citizens have applied to hospitals in Yerevan, of whom 7 continue to receive treatment, while the others have been discharged after receiving appropriate medical care.

According to calls received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ '911' hotline, the following citizens are considered missing in the area of the 'Surmalu' shopping center:
1. Gagik Karapetyan
2. Vanik Amirxanayan.

It is reminded that on August 14, at 13:23, a call was received at the National Center for Crisis Management, reporting an explosion at the 'Surmalu' shopping center located at 15 Arshakunyats Street in Yerevan, which led to the outbreak of a fire and partial collapse of the three-story building.
