Who Stored Explosive Goods in Surmalu: Hetq Report

According to the data from the Cadastre Committee, there are only 19 tenants at the Surmalu shopping center located at 15 Arshakuniats Street, Hetq.am reports.

The Surmalu shopping center is operated by the Yerevan Canned Goods Factory LLC, which is the owner of the property at 15 Arshakuniats Street. The property rights at this address were registered in 2016, and since July 2018, it has been mortgaged to Araratbank OJSC.

According to the Cadastre Committee, the real estate at 15 Arshakuniats Avenue consists of 63 buildings and structures, including an administrative building, office space, trade stalls, and unauthorized constructions. The total area of the land plot is over 6 hectares.

This address has about two dozen registered tenants, who have officially registered their lease rights with the Cadastre Committee. Naturally, the Surmalu shopping center has many stalls and several tenants, whose rights have not been registered with the Cadastre. This publication will focus on the tenants registered with the Cadastre Committee.

• Since January 2019, ITF LLC has leased a 141 sqm area from the administrative building, which is a financial organization conducting money transfers. This company has rented two areas, having also leased an additional 140 sqm from the administrative building since August 2019.
• Since February 2017, Distrimex LLC occupies around 19 sqm, which is a tobacco importing company. The area is used as a shopping center.
• Since February 2017, 24 sqm of the shopping center has been leased by Unicorn Trade LLC, which is engaged in tobacco imports and is the exclusive importer for Japan Tobacco International (JTI), Switzerland.
• Since February 2017, Grand Diling LLC has rented 20 sqm from the shopping center, which is also a tobacco selling company and an exclusive distributor of Grand Tobacco and International Masis Tobacco.
• Since February 2017, Cartel-Anna LLC has rented 10 sqm for food product imports, although the specific area has not been clarified.
• Quadra-Imperx LLC has rented a 24 sqm area from the shopping center, selling Kaffa coffee.
• Savaton LLC has leased a 95 sqm area and engages in wholesale trade of alcoholic beverages.
• Since August 2015, Ganj Group LLC has rented about 46 sqm of office space.
• Vidis Distribution LLC occupies an 18 sqm area in the shopping center, which is also a tobacco importing company and distributes brands like Philip Morris International, IQOS, and HITS.
• Since May 2019, Bob-111 LLC has leased a 54 sqm commercial space. The company imports and sells toys suitable for children aged 3 and above, according to the National Standardization and Metrology Body LLC.
• Since March 2019, ITK-Rus LLC has rented 1262 sqm from the administrative part of the building, which is a furniture showroom.
• Since January 2018, Interfur LLC has leased 381 sqm, a company engaged in passenger transportation.
• Araratbank has also rented a 20 sqm area in the administrative building.

Some areas have been rented by individual entrepreneurs. Specifically:

• Arman Galstyan has rented 4 sqm from the administrative building since 2011.
• Ashot Alayan has rented approximately 14 sqm from the shopping center.
• Arus Kharpetyan has rented 14 sqm from the shopping center.
• Serob Martirosyan has rented 50 sqm.
• The individual entrepreneur Gohar Arakelyan has been renting 116 sqm from the administrative building since May 2019. This individual entrepreneur has registered with the Ministry of Finance in September 2019 as a company engaged in the production, import, or trade of explosive goods. According to the SRC, this entrepreneur operates and is involved in non-specialized wholesale trade.

An examination of Gohar Arakelyan's Facebook page reveals that she served as an assistant or secretary to the former deputy head of the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district, Artak Hanishyan, in 2013-2014. In 2016, Gohar Arakelyan's name appeared on the City Hall's awards list, where she worked as a computer technology operator-secretary. In November 2016, she registered her individual enterprise.

Efforts to contact Gohar Arakelyan through the phone number listed in the state register were unsuccessful as the phone was turned off. She also did not respond to our Facebook post.
