Two Days of Mourning Declared in Artsakh

The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, signed a decree on August 16, declaring two days of mourning from August 17 to 18, 2022, in memory of those who lost their lives due to the fire and explosion at the ‘Surmalu’ shopping center (part of the Yerevan Canning Factory LLC) on August 14, 2022. This information was reported by the main department of information of the President's office.

Leaders of all state departments and local self-government bodies in the Republic of Artsakh have been instructed to lower the state flag of the Republic of Artsakh during the mourning days, both in the Republic and at its representations abroad.

Previously, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had also signed a decree declaring two days of mourning in Armenia.
