Fire Extinguished: Emergency Situations Ministry Presents Updated Data

As of August 16, at 18:00, firefighting and search and rescue operations continue in the territory of the "Surmalu" trade center, reports the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The fire was contained at 14:38 on August 16 and was extinguished by 17:49.

The area involved in the firefighting and rescue operations is approximately 1 hectare according to preliminary data. A three-story building (approximately 2889 sq. m) has collapsed.

As a result of search and rescue operations, the bodies of 16 citizens have been discovered (Misak Patvakan's Margaryan, born in 1964; Anahit Vazgen's Mkhitaryan, born in 1967; Gemma Sargsyan's Nazaryan, born in 1960; Anahit Zardandi's Khalatyan; Vardan Gurgen's Kocharyan, born in 1960; Gayane Artavazd's Avetisyan, born in 1966; Aram Komisari's Hayrapetyan, born in 1980; Vahagan Vahagni's Yeghoyan, born in 2000; Erna Manvel's Grigoryan, born in 1980; Harutyun Samveli's Garakyan, born in 1987; Mariam Armenia's Khachatryan, born in 1992; Sirarpi Armenia's Khachatryan, born in 1994; Marat Karen's Shahbazyan, born in 2018; and Hrachya Fanberg's Sargsyan, born in 1976; Artavazd Hayrapetyan, born in 1951; and one unidentified citizen's body).
