One of the Missing After the Surmalu Explosion is a Russian Citizen
According to the latest information, there are 17 individuals reported missing following the explosion at the Surmalu shopping center, including one Russian citizen. Hayk Kostanyan, the press secretary of Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations, stated this during a conversation with reporters.
“Currently, search and rescue operations as well as firefighting efforts are being conducted. Our teams are working on-site along with volunteers and representatives of the Armenian Red Cross,” Kostanyan detailed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that among the missing is also an Iranian citizen. Regarding circulating media reports claiming that the number of casualties has reached seven, Kostanyan noted that they do not have any information about a seventh victim at this time. “We have confirmed information regarding six fatalities. We do not have any information about a seventh victim. As soon as we receive such information, we will definitely inform you,” said the ministry’s press secretary.

- Davit Mkrtchyan
- Mehdi Taheri (citizen of Iran)
- Melina Taloyan, born in 1997
