The fire resulting from a powerful explosion at the Surmalu Shopping Center, which occurred yesterday on August 14, has still not been extinguished. A reporter from News.am reports from the scene that search and rescue operations are ongoing.

At this moment, Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan and Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan have arrived at the site. It is worth noting that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has also just reached the location.

As a reminder, at 13:23 yesterday, the National Crisis Management Center received a call indicating that an explosion had occurred at the Surmalu Shopping Center. According to preliminary information, the explosion ignited a fire. As a result of the explosion, there are 5 casualties, one of whom has not yet been identified, and the number of wounded exceeds 60.
