22-Year-Old Enters Basement, Calls Brother, Says 'Run': Details from Relative of Missing Person at 'Surmalu'

The 22-year-old Vachagan Yeghoyan, who is considered missing following the explosion at the 'Surmalu' shopping center, worked at the venue, according to a relative who spoke with news.am.

They recounted that Yeghoyan went down to the basement just before the building collapsed. “He managed to call his brother, who was working a few stalls away. He told his brother, 'Run, I'm in the basement.' The brother is with us, but he is not here,” they said.

It is reminded that on August 14 at 13:23, the National Crisis Management Center received a report of an explosion at the 'Surmalu' shopping center. Preliminary data indicate that the explosion triggered a fire. There are 7 fatalities and the number of injured exceeds 60.
