Enemy Has Made Progress Towards Ice Mountain, but No Millimeter of Our Controlled Territory Has Been Given Up: Hakobyan

Prior to the Azerbaijani aggression that occurred in early August, there was a considerable distance between the positions of the Artsakh Defense Army (ADA) and the enemy in the Ice Mountain area. Now, in fact, we have face-to-face positions. This was stated by Metakse Hakobyan, the secretary of the 'Justice' faction of the Artsakh National Assembly, in an interview with 'Factinfo'.

'The arrangement of our and the enemy's positions there was such that a certain section was controlled by neither side, and the enemy did not have positions. It is at the expense of that area that the enemy has made progress, but our soldiers were in their positions, and not a single millimeter of territory under our control has been yielded. It turns out that now our Defense Army and the armed forces of Azerbaijan are standing face to face,' Hakobyan said, adding that this information was obtained through his own clarifications, including conversations with eyewitnesses.

According to the Artsakh MP, the escalation along the contact line is due to Azerbaijan's failure to comply with its latest legally unfounded demands and the fact that the ADA units have not retreated. Hakobyan emphasizes that Azerbaijan makes demands on the Armenian authorities regarding any issue related to Artsakh, which, unfortunately, are not able to cling to the notorious provisions of November 9 that could somewhat benefit us. Hakobyan specifically refers to the indisputable existence of the Defense Army, which effectively ensures the safety of the people living in Artsakh and does not contradict any clause of that document.
