Horrific Incident in Yerevan: 17-Year-Old Son Strangles His Mother with a Rope

A criminal case has been initiated at the Investigative Committee of Armenia concerning a 17-year-old resident of Yerevan, Narek V., who has been arrested as a suspect. According to shamshyan.com, Narek is suspected of strangling his 55-year-old mother with a rope at their apartment around 14:00 on August 12.

The report indicates that the 17-year-old son strangled his mother and then called 911, claiming that she had committed suicide by hanging herself in the kitchen.

Earlier reports had mentioned a mysterious incident taking place in Yerevan on August 12. At around 20:55, the Arabkir Police Department received a call reporting a body in an apartment on Komitas Avenue. Rescuers and police discovered the body of the 55-year-old R. V. in the kitchen of the apartment, lying on the floor. Emergency medical personnel confirmed her death.
