Identities of 3 Fatalities and 4 Injured in Tragic Car Accident Revealed
The identity of the drivers, fatalities, and injured in the large car accident that occurred in the Aragyatsotn region on August 9 has been clarified as part of a criminal case initiated by Stepan Sukiasyan, a senior investigator in the regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee.
According to shamshyan.com, it has been determined that the truck labeled 'Frigidliner' with Russian plates was driven by 38-year-old Arthur Djabiev, a citizen of the Russian Federation. The Opel was driven by 59-year-old Ashot Kocharyan, a resident of the town of Artik.
As a result of the accident, Opel driver A. Kocharyan and his passengers, 74-year-old Samvel Hajatyans and 69-year-old Anichka Hajatyans, died at the scene. Passengers Arman Matevosyan, 26, from Artik, 50-year-old Armenuhi Baghdasaryan from Yerevan, and truck driver A. Djabiev sustained injuries and were taken to the 'Ashtarak' Medical Center, before being transferred to the 'Armenia' Medical Center in Yerevan.
As previously reported by a photojournalist from the scene, a serious and tragic car accident occurred in the Aragyatsotn region on August 9. Around 08:30, an Opel collided with a truck with Russian plates on the 45-km segment of the Yerevan-Ashtarak highway, in the Ushi bends.
