The former Chief Prosecutor of Armenia and former head of the Investigation Committee, Arghvan Hovsepyan, will be released on bail. This decision was made by the judge of the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Court, Mnatsakan Martirosyan.

It should be noted that a session was convened regarding the criminal case against Hovsepyan. On August 9, it became known that Hovsepyan, who was in custody, fainted while returning from 'Nairi' Medical Center to 'Izmirlian'. His lawyer, Erik Aleksanyan, reported today that 'Izmirlian' Medical Center had informed that Hovsepyan was showing signs of a coma. Therefore, they requested to release Hovsepyan on bail.

'The court decided to grant the petition of Hovsepyan's defenders. Hovsepyan will be released on bail,' the judge stated. 'The court decided to partially grant the petition of Hovsepyan's defenders. Hovsepyan will be released on a bail of 100 million drams, as well as with a signed commitment not to leave,' he added.

Mnatsakan Martirosyan further noted that once the 100 million dram payment is made and the appropriate documents are submitted to the court, Hovsepyan will be released.
