Turkey and Kazakhstan to Exchange Military Intelligence Data
The Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan has approved an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of military intelligence with Turkey. The relevant government decision was published on the website of Kazakhstan's normative legal acts information-legal system on Wednesday.
The purpose of the protocol is to determine the obligations, conditions, and procedures for the exchange of military intelligence information between the two countries.
"The parties cooperate in the following areas: mutual exchange of military intelligence information and expert assessments on current issues; monitoring the development of the military-political situation in the region (state) that poses a threat to the security of the parties; mutual exchange of information regarding international terrorist and other organizations that threaten the security of the parties," the document states.
It was noted that the exchange of military intelligence information is carried out during meetings of military personnel, as well as through diplomatic channels. The transmission of military intelligence information may be denied if it threatens the national sovereignty and security of one of the parties or contradicts its national and international interests.
