Shooting and Brawl in Gegharkunik
On August 9, at 20:40, the Martuni police department received a report from the hospital that a 57-year-old resident of the village of Tsovinar had been admitted for treatment diagnosed with "amputation of a joint." An operational group revealed that around 19:00, in a forested area adjacent to the village, the injured man and his 30-year-old son encountered a 33-year-old villager while bringing livestock home. The villager verbally attacked the 57-year-old man and fired twice at him with a gas pistol. A brawl ensued during which the son seized the pistol, and the father sustained injuries.
The 35-year-old resident of Tsovinar was arrested and taken to the Martuni police department. However, this incident did not end there. About an hour later, the same medical center reported that the 35-year-old villager had also sought medical assistance. He informed law enforcement that during the aforementioned brawl, the father and son had struck him with their hands and stones.
The degree of culpability of the parties involved and the circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
