Red Cross Representatives Visit Armenian Prisoners Held in Baku
The latest visit to the prisoners confirmed by Azerbaijan occurred in late July. This was reported to Armenia Today by Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Amatuni mentioned that during this visit, they assessed the health conditions of the detained individuals, the conditions of their detention, and other related matters.
"As part of the visit, the detained individuals will be given the opportunity to communicate with their relatives. In this context, various means are being utilized, such as Red Cross messages, enabling video calls, and recording messages that are subsequently conveyed to their families in Armenia," she stated.
The head of communication programs at the ICRC noted that these visits will continue with a certain regularity.
Additionally, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during a press conference, responded to a question from Armenia Today, stating that the Armenian side possesses two lists of prisoners of war: an official list with 38 confirmed prisoners and another list that has not been verified by the Azerbaijani authorities.
