Vitaly Balasanyan Visits Berdzor with Azerbaijani Officials: What Residents Are Saying

The Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh, Vitaly Balasanyan, visited Berdzor yesterday, accompanied by Azerbaijani officials, showcasing the houses of Berdzor residents that will soon be handed over to the Azerbaijanis.

This was reported to Aravot.am by Berdzor resident Satik Asatryan. According to her, residents had gathered in the center of the village when they suddenly saw Vitaly Balasanyan arriving with Azerbaijani generals. “It’s not the first time he has casually toured with the Turks; we’ve also seen him engaging in sweet conversations with them at the posts in Shushi,” she noted.

“The Azerbaijanis have already come and were looking at our houses. Vitaly was showing them our homes, assuring that we are not demolishing or destroying anything; everything is fine. We can imagine what our situation is like to be subjected to that,” Asatryan lamented. “One very brave woman from our residents approached Vitaly and said, ‘You’ve sold all our lands; is it not enough? You’ve instructed the people not to cause any damage; what for? People have lived, created for years, and you say you will lock it up with keys and hand it over to the leaders. Are you selling us along with Lachin?” Vitaly looked at us in shock, then they got into the car and left. Can such a thing be done?” expressed Satik Asatryan, heartbroken.
