Kremlin Says What Will Happen If Bayraktar Drone Factory is Built in Ukraine

The Turkish Bayraktar drone production factory in Ukraine, if built, will immediately fall under the theme of demilitarization. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian leadership, to journalists on Tuesday, as reported by TASS.

He remarked, “The fact of creating such an object, which will certainly fall under the topic of demilitarization, should be understood that it will probably only prolong the suffering of Ukrainians, but will not help avoid what the purpose of the special military operation is.”

This statement came as a response to announcements regarding plans to build such a factory. Earlier, Vasyl Bodnar, Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey, had reported that the Turkish company Baykar Makina purchased land in Ukraine for the construction of a Bayraktar drone manufacturing facility.

On July 19, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft law to ratify the agreement on cooperation with Turkey in high technology, aviation, and space sectors, which would allow the establishment of a Bayraktar production and service plant in Ukraine.
