Protest Against the Evacuation of Berdzor, Agavno, and Sus Residents: A Statement Has Been Made
Today, a spontaneous gathering was held near the Government building at 20:00 in support of Berdzor, Agavno, and Sus. In the statement of the Civil Initiative 'Recognition of the Republic of Artsakh', a demand is presented to the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Artsakh not to interpret the provisions of the sixth point of the November 9 statement in ways that are absent from that point.
'That is, the 'evacuation' of the residents of Berdzor, Sus, and Agavno from their homes, as an implementation of the aforementioned statement,' they point out.
According to the initiative's members, the statement indicates that a new road project will be created along the corridor (in the Russian version), and along the corridor (in the Armenian version) with the parties' agreement, by 2023, which does not exclude that the new corridor should include the Armenian settlements of Berdzor, Agavno, and Sus.
'Moreover, there is no agreement between the parties regarding the project, and the aforementioned statement cannot be implemented without guaranteeing the safety of citizens, including those in the Lachin humanitarian corridor,' they emphasize.
Young people from Artsakh also declare that they should not succumb to Azerbaijani terrorism and should not leave the residents of Artsakh without political protection.
'This includes not allowing any wing of the Artsakh Republic authorities to carry out a 'evacuation' program that violates the universal freedoms and rights of citizens,' they noted.
