Latvia Resumes Russian Gas Supply

Latvia has resumed the supply of Russian gas, according to Russian media reports.

It is worth noting that gas supplies from Russia to Latvia were halted in April after the Russian side insisted on payments in rubles for the energy resource. Since then, gas flows through the Luhaamaa station have been periodically resumed.

At the end of July, the head of Latvijas gaze, Igars Kalvitis, stated that his company is purchasing gas in euros from a third-party supplier. Meanwhile, Gazprom announced the suspension of supplies to Latvia starting from July 30 due to violations of the conditions for gas withdrawal on the Latvian side.
